OneNote is an incredibly versatile note-taking and organising application. Since its inception with Office 2003, it has had new features added over time to become the leader in its class.
One of those new features, is the ability to take screen captures and with Internet Explorer, that has the added benefit of creating a link to the web page just below the actual screen clipping.
To create a screen clipping:
- Display the page in your OneNote notebook where you want the screen clipping to appear
- Choose Insert tab and click the Screen Clipping button
- OneNote then minimises so you need to have the window that the screenshot is being taken from directly underneath.
- Click and drag around the area that you want the screen clipping of
- The image appears on the page and if it came from Internet Explorer, then a link to that web page will appear under the image.
If you have not looked into the benefits of using OneNote as an alternative to traditional paper-based note-taking systems then check out the New Horizons OneNote 2010 or 2013 courses.
