Bridge Point
New Horizons and Bridge Point have formed a consortium for the delivery of "Real-World, Hands-On" security training courses in Australia.  Bridge Point have developed a comprehensive program of vendor neutral training courses designed by the experiences gained through real world consulting assignments and world wide best practices. Courses are robust, hands on and conducted by practicing Bridge Point information security consultants who just happen to love training and hold a number of industry certifications in their relevant subject.
Bridge Point is a leading provider of both Information Security Consulting & Training and Network Integration services. Since commencing operations in Brisbane, Australia in 2000, Bridge Point has developed a team of highly experienced consultants and engineers who have successfully completed a wide range of Information Security and Networking projects.
Bridge Point is a privately owned company, with offices in Brisbane and Sydney and providing services throughout Australia.
Training Streams
Bridge Point's Training Courses have been designed to cover four key streams of information security:
- Information Security Professional
for information security practitioners interested in professional development.
- Information Security Administration
a more technically focussed stream of courses aimed at those responsible for designing, implementing and managing technical security solutions.
- Information Security Management
training for those involved in information security management including Chief Security Officers, Information Security Managers, CIO's and Risk Managers with responsiblity for information security and internal audit.
- Security Awareness Training
training for those responsiblity for the design and implementation of security awareness within their organisation. Bridge Point was the first organisation in Queensland and also the first IT company to achieve certification to AS 7799.2, the premier Standard for information security management.
Mike Pollard, CISSP, CISM, MBA, BEng
Mike is a Senior Security Consultant with Bridge Point and has 13 years experience in information security, specialising in security management and risk assessment.
Mike has developed several compliance programs for organisations to AS 7799 and BS 7799 standards for Information Security Management. As part of these Mike has written many policies and procedures and developed security awareness materials, tools and other solutions for effective security. Mike also has presented training courses on security management topics.
Mike previously was a security consultant in the UK and prior to this was the network security manager for a large UK government department.
Jodie Siganto, CISSP, LLB (UQ), LLM (Uni of Syd.)
Jodie is the Managing Director of Bridge Point Communications and has extensive legal and management skills, with over 8 years corporate IT industry experience at senior management level.
She is experienced in contract negotiations, contract management and dispute resolution. She has led negotiation teams on multi-million dollar contracts and provided on-going management advice on performance and management issues.
Before founding Bridge Point, Jodie was based in Singapore as Director Legal and Operations, for Dell Financial Services. Jodie has also held positions as General Counsel, Unisys, Asia, Singapore, Legal Counsel Australasia, Tandem Computers, Sydney and Senior Associate, Baker and McKenzie, Sydney.
Mike Tappenden, CISSP, CCDA, BSC (UQ)
Mike is the Technical Services Manager and manages the Network Solutions, Security Solution and Managed Services divisions. Mike has extensive experience in providing project management and network consulting to corporate and Government clients throughout Australia on major security and network projects.
Mike has been responsible for the establishment of the Bridge Point Network Management Centre. This operation is able to deliver 24 hour support for client networks and security infrastructure. Mike has also been responsible for the successful delivery of several major Bridge Point Networking and IT security projects for major clients.
Prior to Bridge Point, Mike was a Senior Network Engineer with 3Com Corporation, and Senior Systems Consultant, Data and Voice Communication department, Suncorp-Metway. At 3Com Corporation, Mike built a solid professional services business in Queensland and attained 3Com's highest available engineer accreditation, the Master of Network Science. Before 3Com, Mike provided strategic planning and consulting for Suncorp in areas such as capacity planning, disaster recovery, and legacy network integration. |
