Some people deliver it too ham-fisted; some don’t do it at all. Does your feedback to staff get the intended results? Managers tend to lean in one of two ways unless they have done a lot of work on themselves to break these natural inclinations. ‘Persecutors’ focus on the task and their direct feedback can often create resentment & defensiveness in their subordinates, leading to spasmodic results and a revolving door. ‘Protectors’ can shield their staff too much from the consequences of poor performance & fail to deliver adequate feedback, if at all, leading to their own burn-out.

In this 4-hour workshop, examine the virtues and vices of delivering feedback and how we as managers, can get our messages across to achieve our objectives, whilst maintaining staff morale & motivation.

As part of the program, prior to the workshop, course attendees will complete an on-line 180° behavioural assessment. This is a 22 question survey filled out by the attendee and anonymously by up to five of their staff members. The results will be fed back in the workshop and provide the participant with insight as to the way that they see their own feedback skills versus the way their subordinate staff members see them.

This workshop is a part of New Horizons' DEEP DIVE series, that applies a 4-hour course format, assisting business professionals to save time, stay up to date with the skills that matter, and dive down into specific information that is important. Click here to learn more about DEEP DIVE.
