Overview:
This one-day course is made up of a First Look Clinic (FLC) and corresponding Hands on Labs (HOL). This First-Look course covers the high points of the new features in Windows 8 for IT Pros, as well as the Windows 8 ecosystem including management tools. The key new technologies in Windows 8 covered in this course are: Client Hyper-V, App-V, Windows To Go, Windows Store, a tour of the new user interface (UI), SkyDrive, Direct Access, BitLocker, Windows 8 Ecosystem, UE-V and Folder Redirection, Windows Intune, and Microsoft Desktop Optimisation Pack (MDOP). The clinic uses the Enterprise edition of Windows 8.
This training will enable Microsoft partners and IT professionals to understand the key benefits of deploying, determining adoptions levels and training needs for Windows 8.
Target Audience:
This course is intended for IT Professionals who are interested in learning about the new features and functionality in Windows 8. It is technical content for technical people and provides an overview of some of the key technologies and features in Windows 8.Key influencers and technology decision makers in an IT organisation will also be interested in attending this course and will benefit from gaining early insight into some of the latest technologies included in Windows 8.
In general, early adopters of new technology or people looking to gain early insight into new functionality in Windows 8 will benefit from attending this First-Look course.
Pre-requisites:
This course is intended for people with experience managing and administering computers in a networked or domain-based environment, and requires that students meet the following prerequisites:
Working experience and background knowledge of Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Server 2012.
Basic understanding of AD DS, DNS, DHCP, Hyper-V, and general networking technologies
This module describes the benefits, new features and user interface of Windows 8. It also examines considerations for implementing Windows 8, including supported platforms and hardware requirements.
