Screen Clip your Internet!

 Mar 03, 2015

OneNote has many impressive features that makes it one of best ways to keep content organised, whether at work, school or home. In this article, I’d like to introduce one such feature – the screen clipping tool.

Screen_Clipping

In fact all of the major Office Applications have a screen clipping feature, but OneNote’s has one up on the others when it comes to web pages. You can take a screen clipping in Internet Explorer and OneNote will automatically add a hyperlink to the web page to the page in the notebook.

First the web page must be opened in Internet Explorer. It should be adjusted on the screen so that all the content to be included in the screen clipping is visible.

Then OneNote must be opened and the appropriate page must be on the screen.

After that, follow this procedure:

  1. In the OneNote notebook, go to Insert, Screen Clipping (OneNote will then minimise)
  2. Wait for the screen to turn grey
  3. Click and drag across the area to be screen shot
  4. Screen_Clipping
  5. When the mouse button is released, the screen shot is taken
  6. It should appear in the OneNote page with a link at the bottom
  7. Screen_Clipping
  8. I hope this tip proves useful, I know it has for me many times. For more of OneNote’s features, take a look at New Horizons' OneNote training courses.
