Certifications fuel new and valuable careers, they will help you get noticed and move forward in your career. Do you want to get the skills to get hired quickly or get on a fast-track for that promotion? FYI: Microsoft is now World’s #1 Technology Leader overtaking Apple. What better time to getting Microsoft certified and achieve your ambitious goals. Also, did you know that on average, Microsoft certified technologists earn 15% more than their uncertified peers? That is not something we just made up, read the whitepaper here.

Key things to note when planning which Certification track to follow:

  • Each MCSA and MCSE certification has multiple streams, dependant upon your specialization(s) and interests
  • MCSA usually requires 2 or 3 exams to be completed to attain the certification; MCSE then requires just 1 exam to be completed from the list of electives for that MCSE certification.
  • The MCSA and MCSE certifications do not expire, but are stamped with the year they are earned.
  • To keep relevant and to show your expanded MCSE skills you only need to do 1 exam each year from the list of electives in each of the MCSE streams.

How to get certified

The pathway to get Microsoft Certified as a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert starts with an entry-level certification (MTA) intended for people seeking knowledge of fundamental technology concepts. After doing this you can advance towards a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certificate, to qualify for an expert-level technical certification. If you have a MCSA certificate you only have to pass one single exam from a list of electives associated with the corresponding Center of Excellence to obtain a MCSE or MCSD certificate, you can do that right?!

The resulting certificate will be added to your transcript and will never expire. Every year you will have the opportunity to keep your certification current by passing one exam each year from the list of electives for that certification. Doing so shows that you keep up on that particular technology.

In order to get certified you will have to come in and take the exam to show that you have mastered the skills needed for that particular certification. You can only take the exam at Authorised Training Centres, of which New Horizons is one. Learn how you can master the skills needed to get certified!

There are heaps possibilities to prepare yourself for the exam. You can follow instructor-led courses in class, or online. You can also learn in the most flexible way we know, at your own pace with the on-demand learning options New Horizons offers to their students.
