Windows Server 2016 comes with bundles of data recovery solutions such as File history, backup and restore (Windows 7), System Image, Previous versions, Windows Server Backup and Microsoft Azure Backup.
After you set up File History, you can just connect an external drive to your computer and Windows will automatically back up your files to it. Leave it connected and Windows will back up automatically on a schedule.

You can use the backup and restore option to backup individual files, folders, volumes and user library.
Previous version offers version control for files and folders. Once enabled, Windows Server automatically creates backup versions of modified files.

The system Image contains an exact copy of all the data on your computer. System Image consists of a virtual hard disk and you can use windows recovery environment to load a system image.
Azure offers a simple and cost-effective backup-as-a-service solution that extends tried-and-trusted tools on-premises with rich and powerful tools in the cloud. It delivers protection for customers’ data no matter where it resides.

The Windows Server Backup is a feature that can be turned on. Once on, it can perform a bare metal restore, restoring user state, recover individual files and folders. You can even include and exclude files and folders and also specify a wide range of storage locations.
