This instructor-led course provides students with the necessary knowledge to develop reports using Microsoft Report Builder. The training environment includes SQL Server 2012 and SharePoint 2010 so that the students can utilise Report Builder and generate reports from multiple sources to investigate the different features of each release.

The course covers the Report Builder wizards, basics of report design, intermediate reports with report parameters and report expressions, report visualisations including graphs, charts, images and gauges, advanced reporting including the utilisation of maps, interactive reports, report parts and Sub-Reports.

This module describes Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services features that you can use to enable self-service reporting.

This module introduces students to the three main Wizards for creating self-service reports using Report Builder.

This module takes students through the many types of reports that can be created using Report Builder. It also introduces students to the features that allow reports to allow parameters, evaluate expressions, formatting and Report Parts.

In this module, students will discover how to organise the relationships between various reports.

After completing this module, students will be able to:

  • Describe and create Drillthrough and Drilldown reports as well as utilise Subreports and Nested Data Regions.

This course is intended for professionals who need to develop adhoc reports using Microsoft SQL Server Report Builder.
Before attending this course, students must have:
  • A basic understanding of relational databases.
  • An awareness of key business priorities such as revenue, profitability and financial accounting is desirable.
After completing this course, students will be able to create reports with Report Builder, create reusable report items that simplify self-service reporting and manage report execution and delivery.
