Microsoft Sway - Will you be swayed?

 Jan 22, 2015

Microsoft is well known for its Windows Operating System and its Office productivity suite. Their future however, is in the business of developing their unique “cloud-first” services that brings productivity to the web, and Office 365 is a good example of this. Introducing Microsoft’s newest cloud-based app, Sway. Sway is a presentation tool that is optimised for mobile devices and traditional computers. It enables someone to bring together their ideas, images, videos and automatically provides the design and layout necessary to create a presentable portfolio. By adding photos you have stored on OneDrive, videos from YouTube, and posts from social media sites, Sway can seamlessly integrate them all to help tell the story.  The best part about it is that Sway removes all the hard work by using its design algorithms.

A "Sway" can be created on any web-enabled device, giving the flexibility to start throwing your ideas into Sway on your iPhone and add to it later on your PC or tablet. Your Sway can be presented to an audience through a projector, web-enabled TV or simply shared on social media for people to consume at their leisure. All you need to view a Sway is a browser – any browser. Sway is currently under preview and is only available by invitation only. So either go here, or find a friend who is already on Sway and get them to invite you! Once Microsoft has done all the research and development necessary, anyone will be able to create a Sway!
