How to create a multi-frame opening in InDesign.

Adobe InDesign gives us many wonderful ways to design. Creating a multiple frame opening to display an image or text is a great way to enhance your layouts.

Follow these easy steps to create a multipart frame:

First, create your frames.

Laying out your frames with a copy of the image underneath may be helpful.

Next, select your frames and convert them into a compound path.

Object menu › Paths › Make Compound Path

Now place your graphic or text into your new compound path frame. If already present in your layout, cut your image or text; select your frame and use Paste Into. Paste Into is available in the edit menu (Ctrl + Alt + V (PC), Command + Option + V (Mac)).

It’s that easy.

Until next time, enjoy creating beautiful layouts with Adobe InDesign.
